good, better, best

I've always had this habit of spreading myself thin and staying very busy.

However, I don't know if I've ever been so busy in my life! Yet I feel like I'm less productive. I feel like I just don't have enough time to do everything...especially the things that are most important to me.

It's been a real conundrum for me, especially this past week.

And then I remembered:

Last month, we had a combined Relief Society/Priesthood lesson given to us by our wonderful branch presidency in which they reviewed Elder Dallin H. Oaks' talk, "Good, Better, Best."

One of the branch counselors emphasized the good, better, and best use of our time.

He reminded us that each of us are given the exact same amount of time every day. Who we become depends on how we use our time.

You cannot waste time. You can only waste yourself.

As Elder Oaks taught:

"We have to forego some good things in order to choose others that are better or best because they develop faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and strengthen our families."

This is my goal this week.

This talk of Elder Oaks' has always held a special place in my heart, for another reason.

In fact, I have placed the words

Good

Better

Best

by my bedside for a long time now.

I know I am exactly where the Lord wants and needs me to be right now.
